Elbow, Wrist and Finger Treatment

Elbow, wrist and finger injuries are extremely common, and we regularly see patients who come to us with complaints of pain in these regions. After a health assessment and analysis, we’re happy to craft a custom care plan to help your body heal naturally.

Elbow Injuries

We see two common elbow injuries in the practice frequently.

1. Tennis elbow. Tennis elbow doesn’t only affect tennis players. Instead, this injury is caused by repetitive use of the forearm muscles, which cause the tendons inside your elbow to be overworked. It can cause weakness and pain with certain movements such as lifting an item or turning the doorknob. Pain can spread from the elbow joint to the forearm.

2. Golfers elbow is a similar condition of muscle inflammation but on the muscle and tendons outside of the elbow instead. It is caused by the overuse of muscle and tendons of the forearm. Athletes of all sports can be affected by this—not just golfers.

Hand and Finger Pain

Certain hand and finger injuries respond well to chiropractic care. Here are some of the more common ones that we get great results with in our practice.

1. Osteoarthritis. A common location of osteoarthritis is the wrist and fingers, in addition to the knee. Inflammation of these hand joints causes pain and discomfort and sometimes even numbness. Simple movements such as holding a mug and turning the doorknob can become a major frustration to patients.

2. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is defined by numbness of the hands caused by pinching of nerves at the wrist. Through chiropractic adjustments, the realignment of these joints will relieve the pain and numbness without the use of surgery or drugs.

3. Trigger Finger is also a very common condition we can help with. People presenting with trigger finger will most often feel like their fingers are stiff and ‘stuck’ in a certain position and the range of motion of the fingers is sometimes greatly reduced.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are designed to restore proper movement and function to the spine and extremities. If you’re dealing with hand, wrist or elbow problems, give us a call.

We look forward to developing a custom care plan to get you back to living your best life, naturally.
